I get this audio output : http://www.supercomputer.demon.co.uk/audiodump.mp3

if i put in -audiofile random.mp3, it works perfectly.

if the video codec is different, eg xvid, it works perfectly

I tried using alsa. same effect.
I changed the soundcard from builtin via 82xx to ensoniq 1371, same effect.

I've tried older version of mplayer, same effect.

using -vo null, same effect.

kernel: 2.6.10. thats the only thing, i can't change, ie can't get a 2.4 to boot my suse 9.1 system.

standalone mp3 is perfect.
There is no problem with the video playback.

Its seems happen when the video is mpeg1 or 2.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
Robin
