I'm still using an older version, so I can't comment on 6.8.2.  However, even with the older versions, all you need to do is add a line to your videocard "Device" section in xorg.conf:

  Option       "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"

XV/Memory problem solved...  Even on my notebook with only 8mb of (shared) video RAM.
