[MPlayer-users] SIGSEGV on making movies from JPEG files

Run identify -verbose on your images.
If you see a line like this: Class: PseudoClass
then run the following command for each image:
convert +page -type TrueColor $infile $outfile
I think this is the problem, or at least this happened to me...
