[MPlayer-users] NSV demuxer problems

The NSV demuxer in MPlayer is very useful, but it has one significant
limitation.  When the streams switches from one video to another, the
demuxer gets confused, and freezes up mplayer.  I believe it's because
of streaming servers not starting at chunk boundaries.  Quite a few
streams present a short commercial at the beginning this way, which
makes mplayer unable to play the stream.  Such as this one:

Even for streams which don't start with a commercial, when they
switch from one video to another, MPlayer commonly freezes up. It really
makes it quite a hassle.

It's clearly the demuxer that's crashing.  Ironically, the LAVF demuxer
(-demuxer 35) for NSV plays the above stream just fine, but it crashes
on practically every other stream which MPlayer's NSV demuxer plays
perfectly, so it may be a helpful in finding the problem, but it's not
really an alternative.

I wonder, is there any interest in fixing the demuxer, or are all NSV
users on our own?
