[MPlayer-users] mplayer-cvs stalls when building audio filter chain on Mac OSX tiger

OS:  Tiger 10.4.1
gcc: gcc version 4.0.0 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5026)
MPlayer dev-CVS-050611-16:51-4.0.0 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team

when playing any media with sound mplayer stalls at the:
     "Building audio filter chain for 22050Hz/2ch/s16be -> 22050Hz/ 
2ch/s16be..."
step of the initialization.

After some time mplayer will play the file, but the sound and video  
will not be as smooth as before this problem had occurred.
