Hi everybody!
I have an AC97 chip (VIA 8233A) on my mainboard and an additional
SoundBlaster Live! PCI card. My ALSA subsystem uses the SoundBlaster als
primary sound card (hw:0); the VIA is secondary card (hw:1).
I can easily send the audio output to either card on the command line
(mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=X.0 where X is 0 for the SoundBlaster and 1
for the VIA codec), but I couldn't get the VIA codec to work when using
MPlayer's GUI (gmplayer). In gmplayer, the ALSA configuration dialog
only lists the SoundBlaster (hw=0.y where y runs from 0 to 2) but not
the VIA chip. Playing around with gui.conf (e.g. changing "ao_driver =
"alsa"" to "ao_driver = "alsa:device=hw=1.0"") didn't help - gmplayer
always uses the SoundBlaster for audio output.
Does anybody know how I can get gmplayer to see and use the VIA chip?
thanks,
Jan
