Yes from VHS tape to AVI (mpeg4) file to be played on a external reader
because it is the mplayer list. I suppose I need a TV capture card (it
is what I use) to go from a VCR to my computer.

Yes normal interlaced and no NTSC (PAL).

Thanks for this command line. It is about what I use (for TV and DVD
capture): -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1700:mbd=1:trell:cbp
... but I still have "blocked" images and no smooth sequence of images
with this "Saint Seiya" anime. I only asked for some sort of tutorial if
it exists to see by myself what to do to improve the quality of the
movie file. No man page ...
