[MPlayer-users] file owner

when i tried to install mplayer by building as per the instructions in
the download, the file owner of MPlayer-1.0pre6a is changed to 1058 
of which they belong to group 103.  why is this?  i can't remove
anything because THEY DON'T BELONG TO ME NOR ROOT
