That's right. But discussion somewhat drifted to "consider the energy that 
went into producing more stuff when there was already a plenty working, 
plus the fact that you can press the power button when you leave your 
workstation".
I wanted to say that I do know the usage of the power button (and I use it 
quite often). Since recent kernels support suspend to disk very well, 
this could be an alternative (as environment friendly as a power button).
