Dominik,
I add suggested surround option.
Pls find log for:
mplayer -channels 6 -ao alsa -af surround -ac hwac3, file.avi
Result: no change: ampli shows no sound and file is played way too fast.
2-3 times too fast playing leads me to considerations about clocking.
Maybe we have to look in this area ?
Generally: any introduction "-ac hwac3" causes too fast playing.
Maybe it is alsa related problem ?
Many peoples with SBlive or Nvida can play 5.1 without problems...on the
other hand - xine is playing OK, so problem looks little more complicated.
What else can I try to debug problem ?
