Did it not crash for you?
It doesn't crash for me if i use -cache 4096, w/ alsa driver, and even then it
takes a couple minutes after cache fills up before it shows anything. But it
does by default. Even when it doesn't crash, there is no sound.

So 2 problems:
1. why caching is required?
2. why no sound?
