the options are -dumPfile -dumPvideo -dumPaudio, not  -dumBxxx.
I wonder how you used them.

here's how they work:

$ mplayer -dumpfile audio.mp3 -dumpaudio file.mpg
$ mplayer -dumpfile video.m2v -dumpvideo file.mpg
