[MPlayer-users] Mencoder fails on second pass

Hi all,

I have tried to convert a PAL-dvd to a divx-avi file using mencoder.
Unfortunately it failed in the second pass.

Commands used were:

mencoder -vf crop=704:352:8:112,scale=640:304 -sws 2 -oac mp3lame 
-lameopts preset=standard -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1350:trell:mv0:mbd=2:v4mv:qprd:cmp=3:subcmp=3:mbcmp=3:predia=2:dia=2:vmax_b_frames=2:vb_strategy=1:vpass=1:turbo 
-dvd-device /mnt/loop dvd://1 -o showgirls.avi

It failed during the second pass with:

mencoder: ratecontrol.c:635: ff_rate_estimate_qscale: Assertie 
`pict_type == rce->new_pict_type' faalde.

I am using:

MEncoder dev-CVS-041028-16:07-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team
LAME version 3.96.1 (http://lame.sourceforge.net/)

I am running Debian unstable. Kernel is
Linux piccolo 2.6.9 #1 Tue Oct 19 16:13:32 CEST 2004 i686 GNU/Linux

Furthermore:
GNU ld version 2.15
GNU assembler 2.15

To produce a gdb output would take some time, because my computer is slow.
If necessary it can be done.
Did i do something wrong, or is it MPlayer's fault?
