which bug? mkv setting wrong aspect??
the code CLEARLY set the wrong aspect. if it "worked" with gcc3, then
gcc miscompiled the code!! ;)

quite the opposite. ffmpeg is massively slower, as in unplayable dvds
versus playable dvds. and libmpeg2 was even faster before someone
stupidly went and "upgraded" it while i was away this summer.
