Still no-go.

According to codecs.conf :

audiocodec faad
  info "FAAD AAC (MPEG2/MPEG4 Audio) decoder"
  status working
  fourcc mp4a,MP4A
  fourcc "AAC " ; Used in NSV
  format 0xff
  driver faad
  dll libfaad2



Is it enough to call 
mplayer -rawaudio format=0xff audio.aac
?

With -v it still seems to claim:
sync_mpeg_ps: seems to be MP3 stream...

Am I missing something?
