[MPlayer-users] Mplayer doesn't want to play .avi

Hi,
I had the same problem and JUST had it again.. this time I could fix 
it.. let me explain how it is on my pc..
I run amarok for mp3s and as engine there you can put xine or arts.. 
When I run it on arts then I get the same problem with Xvid files not 
playing..
anyway,
running amarok on Xine and "killall artsd" helps and mplayer plays the 
files without a problem
