Ok, so libacodec works for me, but for some reason mp3 doesn't. The manpage
shows that acodec supports:

     acodec=<value>
     Audio codec (default: mp2):
     mp2
     MPEG Layer 2
     mp3
     MPEG Layer 3
     ac3
     AC3
     adpcm_ima_wav
     IMA Adaptive PCM (4bits per sample, 4:1 compression)


So I tried the option "-oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=mp3" and I get this error:

"Audio LAVC, couldn't find encoder for codec mp3"

So what am I missing?

Also, does mencoder have the option for encoding audio with AAC?
