[MPlayer-users] Can enybody help me in using EDL?

You can't say there's no manual ;)

According to this your file would MUTE not skip. 

Now, creating a file
10 20 0
30 40 1

and doing mplayer -vo mpegpes -edl cc.edl file.avi
gave me a perfectly working grab.mpg, which skipped second ten seconds
and on third (or fourth, depending in which file we're counting) was
mute.
But I don't know which MPlayer version you are using. There have been
extensive changes to EDL code near end of August, maybe you should grab
new version (or switch to CVS, I don't even know if there was a release
since then).
