MEncoder, no. MPlayer, yes.

mplayer <stream_URL> -dumpstream -dumpfile <audiostream.rm>

This should duplicate the streamed file on your local drive (or
duplicate the incoming segment of a live stream). If that isn't what you
want to do, please clarify.
