[MPlayer-users] corrupt mpeg4 output

Hi,

I ripped a DVD (LOTR - The Two Towers) with the following commandline:

mencoder dvd://1  -aid 128 -oac copy  -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vqscale=2:vhq:v4mv:trell:autoaspect  -vf crop=720:428:0:74 
  -o lotr-the_two_towers.avi

When I play the avi file it always stops at 6789.5 seconds. Sometimes 
ist plays slowly half a second further, but then it hangs. Once it 
seemed to try harder and produced the following output. It says CRC 
check failed and things like that. My problem is, how can I repair this 
file or make sure I get a good one when I rip it again. This was the 
second try of ripping. The first time mencoder segfaulted at about the 
same position (not sure if it's exactly there).
