You are right! And I am such a fool... :-(

Now I can do all my capture happily.
And I must recognize that mencoder is by far the best program for
capturing: it is the only one between all the programs I tried (both under
linux and windows) that is able to capture encoding in mp3 and divx on the
fly without dropping a single frame in one hour and without loosing audio
and video sync.
