By the way, you should upgrade to the CVS version of mplayer (and CVS of
libavcodec). Besides the chance that somebody already fixed your bug,
there are some nice advanced features of mencoder+lavc that have been
added after 0.9x, and a couple that are newer than 1.0pre3.
