Here are some more details: I called mencoder with the following
options:
~/sw/mplayer-1.0pre4/bin/mencoder dvd://1 -dvd-device VIDEO_TS/ -o
movie.avi -alang en -vf crop=720:436:0:70,scale=416:-3 -oac lavc -ovc lavc
-lavcopts acodec=ac3:abitrate=128:vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=767:vhq:vqmin=2:
v4mv:trell:autoaspect:vlelim=-4:vcelim=9:lumi_mask=0.05:dark_mask=0.01:
vpass=2 -endpos 6480
(As you can see, this is pass 2; I encoded pass 1 with
precisely the same options, with the only difference
that I use "-oac copy" and "vpass=1" in the first pass.)
The output of pass 2 (just before exiting) is:
Video stream: 683.068 kbit/s (85383 bps) size: 552851566 bytes
6474.920 secs 161874 frames
Audio stream: 128.000 kbit/s (16000 bps) size: 103606272 bytes
6475.392 secs
So the sum of the two sizes (after "size:") is 656457838; while
the actual file size is 665284436. That is an 8MB difference.
Is this normal? Is one of the options the problem?
Many thanks,
Pit
