[MPlayer-users] Problems when using x.org X server

After I switched to the X.org X server 6.7.0 from XFree86 4.3.0, I 
started experiencing a lot of MPlayer crashes. I get crashes (by 
segfault) for almost all formats, ranging from simple mpg movies to 
divX. Sometimes mplayer crashes right after playback starts and 
sometimes the movie does start playing but right-clicking the movie 
window in order to bring up the context menu causes a crash in all 
cases. I have an nvidia card (using nvidia's proprietary drivers), X.org 
  X server 6.7.0, linux kernel 2.6.7-ck1 (but it was the same with 
vanilla 2.6.5). The movies that now cause crashed played without any 
problems before switching to X.org. In mplayer, I use xv as video driver 
and arts driver for sound.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior with X.org ?
