[MPlayer-users] Slower seek with Linux 2.6

Hi List,

I just upgraded to Linux 2.6.7 (from the 2.4 series) and I perceieved
significant seek time decrease using MPlayer.

The typematic rate of my keyboard is around 30 chars/sec with both
Linux 2.4 and 2.6.

Under Linux 2.4, MPlayer makes 20-30 seeks per second if I
continuously seeking in most movie (etc. keeping the right arrow key
pressed), but under 2.6 it averages 6 or so. I have tried 2.6 with and
without preemption and the results are the same.

I'm using Redhat 9.0. I'm tried some recent versions of MPlayer when
measuring these results. If anyone needs any more info about my
config, please let me know (although it seems more like a general
issue).
