[MPlayer-users] rce region code

Hallo!

I cannot play my region 1 DVDs anymore. This is what I get:

Reading disc structure, please wait...
There are 4 titles on this DVD.
There are 22 chapters in this DVD title.
There are 1 angles in this DVD title.
libdvdread: Invalid title IFO (VTS_04_0.IFO).
Cannot open the IFO file for DVD title 4.

I suspect the region code is rendering the IFO invalid. Does this make 
sense? Can that be overcome other than by buying a new DVD-drive? Does 
playing different regions cause the DVD-drive to get burnt into one 
region without the user getting a warning?
