First of all , thanks for your help. I first tried -emdpos(filesize-1)MB
and had no luck. But endpos (Videotime-10 seconds) worked !

The versions are:

~$ mplayer --version
MPlayer 1.0pre3-3.2.2 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team


Xvid..hm i downloaded the sources a few days ago, i think it´s 1.0.0
beta 3.
