[MPlayer-users] mplayer1.0pre3 and kernel 2.6.3 ALSA

I'm having trouble trying to make mplayer use ALSA audio output. I'm running kernel 2.6.3
with compiled-in ALSA support for my soundcard.  It work, Gnome and SDL apps make
sounds pleasantly, but not mplayer:

I guess ALSA in 2.6.3 is 1.0.2c, but mplayer is compiled for 0.9, could this be the problem?
