[MPlayer-users] SuSE 9.0 install problems

I am trying to install the MPlayer available for SuSE 9.0 at:

I get the follwing error output (when trying to install in shell):

I get a similar output when I try to install
MPlayer-1.0pre3-pm.1.i586.rpm via Yast ('dependency conflicts' with more
or less the same items).

In fact, I am not sure what the difference between i586 and i686 is, or
what I should use, but neither seem to work.

Does anyone here have advice? Please bear in mind that I am a novice to
Unix and Linux - step-by-step instructions will be appreciated.
