Mplayer uses all my CPU for playing a normal video file. Its about 640 by 480, 200 megs, 24 minutes long. I use xv, esd and framedrop. The playback is good, but fullscreen is terrible. I only use about 3% CPU when I am not playing a move. The also seems to play better without the GUI so I don't use the GUI much anymore.
