Making it the default wouldn't hurt on alternative platforms, except for
taking perhaps an extra 1/10th of a second on startup.

Yes, I've already covered the fact that it's slow.  As for buggy, that
has not been my experience, and the alternative is clearly buggy as
well.  In fact, I discovered that the crash on vcodec_uninit I discussed
with you was due to ffmpeg/svq3.  Another open bug...

That's exactly what I have done on my own system...  Using vfm/vc/ac
seems a bit too limited.

Anyhow, I wasn't trying to flame anyone, just answering the question.
