Not an inordinate number, no.  For example, this the complete list of 
dups from the first pass of a 10 minute section (the second pass 
corresponds exactly btw):

(you may notice from the audio rate that I am still attempting the 
record audio once trick - rest assured I am actually testing both!)

Thanks for the -mc 0 tip, never noticed that one before!  Trying now.
