At a guess, he expects it to open in the GUI window itself - that being
the way most Windows players do it (in fact I remember having used only
one which didn't, the then-latest(-free) QuickTime Player). Never having
tried or otherwise seen the MPlayer GUI, I'd have expected much the same
myself; I can imagine why it wouldn't be done that way, but the
assumption doesn't seem unreasonable.
