i thought about it a little more.. you can start mplayer in slave mode
and then it sits there and waits for commands from an external
application. since mplayer actually prints out wich frame is being
decoded at the moment a control application could maybe continuously
read the framecounts of the different instances and if they differ make
all players jump to the same position again.
if that would work in "realtime" i can't tell though..
soon i'll find time for some tests..
