[MPlayer-users] -vo quartz window size question

Hi -

	When I use "-vo quartz" to play an HDTV capture the window is too
	small vertically.   Instead of 1920x1080 (which the 23" Cinema-HD
	display can handle) the size is only 1920x927 (according to the window 
	capture from 'Grab') - it's pretty obvious that the picture isn't tall
	enough.   If I use '-vo sdl' (which says "SDL: Using driver: Quartz") 
	then the playback window is 1920x1102.   Those sizes include the title 
	bar.  

	In either case the A/V sync is lost very quickly even though the cpus
	(2x 2GHz G5) are not maxed out.

	The output is below - I see that the video driver says something about
	"no suitable new res found" but right above that is the message saying
	it's using "1920x1080" (which isn't true - it's going to 1920x900).

Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:
- Most common: broken/buggy _audio_ driver
  - Try -ao sdl or use ALSA 0.5 or the OSS emulation of ALSA 0.9.
  - Experiment with different values for -autosync, 30 is a good start.
- Slow video output
  - Try a different -vo driver (-vo help for a list) or try -framedrop!
- Slow CPU
  - Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try -hardframedrop.
- Broken file
  - Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
- Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
  - Try -cache 8192.
- Are you using -cache to play a non-interleaved AVI file?
  - Try -nocache.

If none of this helps you, read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html.

	So far I haven't found too many ways to play HD content (using 'vlc' is
	like watching a slide show ;)).
