[MPlayer-users] mencoder - phenomen....

Hi!

I think this will be reasonably the background. I tried now to cut a few
frames from every end and then it worked...
I guess, "Smartcopy" will (/should) paste mp3-blocks together, but I do not
know which "great" software generated these SVCD's at all. (During every
mencoder run I permanently get duplicate frame errors, nows the hell, why,
but finally it works.

About why not concatenating mpg files first...

I tried this and it gives the absolutely poorest results. Sometimes I get mpeg
files which are built with different compression & encoding(!), so CD1of2 is
different to CD2of2. (This point out the knowledge of some "specialists",
nobody would even think about such strange things, but they do it...)

With re-ripping every particular file, I get newly encoded files (at least it
works anyway), so they match all settings and can be pasted much better -
except of the above strange thing.

Question on behalf of this:
Does mencoder really decode everything and then re-encode it, when I use no
"-ovc copy" and no "-oac copy" option? If not, it would be a good enhancement
to mencoder...
