Hey,

Not too long ago there was some discussion which included the 1280x720
resolution movie sample from page http://heroinewarrior.com/xmovie.php3.
MPlayer yes isn't able to play the audio..

My system is
o Athlon XP +1800 (Thoroughbred)
o 768MB RAM 266MHz (ddr)
o XFree86 4.3.0 release for my Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB based card
o Linux 2.6.0-pre6
o MPlayer 1.0pre2 (gcc 3.2.2)

Use of xv as videout.. Under some load (~0.25) with mplayer and X running at
the same nice (=-5).
BENCHMARKs: VC: 20.269s VO: 22.524s A: 0.000s Sys: 1.048s = 43.841s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 46.2333% VO: 51.3760% A: 0.0000% Sys: 2.3907% = 100.0000%

With videout xvidix, mplayer running with nice -5, the same background load:
BENCHMARKs: VC: 34.441s VO: 0.038s A: 0.000s Sys: 1.109s = 35.588s
BENCHMARK%: VC: 96.7779% VO: 0.1070% A: 0.0000% Sys: 3.1150% = 100.0000%

The xvidix vo time is so much smaller than xv's.. Have I misconfigured
something, are XFree86 drivers very suboptimal or is XVidix just better by
design?

Please note, I only ran once for those benchmarks, there is probably a lot of
error..
