I've actually used this drive for reading iso9660 fs, burning CDs and 
DVDs, but haven't been able to play DVDs.  mplayer either hangs at 
reading the VTS_01_0.IFO file or succeeds there and then quickly hangs.
I get the following kernel message in /var/log/messages:
Oct  9 05:49:36 AMDKing kernel:  I/O error: dev 0b:01, sector 26144
Oct  9 05:49:53 AMDKing kernel:  I/O error: dev 0b:01, sector 26144

Thus, I was wondering if this is a usb-kernel ioctls issue since I 
assume mplayer (and other css decrypting software) needs io calls which 
may or may not be implemented so far in the USB code.  Hence the 
question, anyone successful at DVD playback over a USB device?
