it's a limitation/complaint of the decoding library (even though the 
MPEG standard limits the resolution to 4096x4096),
so whatever file format  you use  libmpeg2 will complain.
Try -vc ffmpeg2, maybe it helps.
You may also need to rescale to a lower resolution for a smoother playback.
