I think you're having problems because you have a new version of DivX5,
but mplayer 0.92 doesn't support it. 0.92 is old anyway, so no great
loss. Download and compile 1.0pre2 (or, even better, latest CVS of
mplayer and latest CVS of libavcodec) and your problem should be fixed.
