If the previous posts got you to actually RTFM, then they did help you. 
I quote from the manpage:

OSD/SUB OPTIONS
        NOTE:
        See -vop expand too.

So, I have to conclude that you're either lazy or dense to complain that 
someone told you to RTFM.
