Hi,

I have a problem ripping dvds with mencoder. I get loads and loads of
error messages, looking like

        :
    Cannot generate tables.
    get_path('subfont.ttf') -> '/export/home/ketil/.mplayer/subfont.ttf'93] A/Vms 0/111 D/B/S 0/3/2
    Unicode font: 413 glyphs.
    Unicode charmap not available for this font. Very bad!
    Cannot generate tables.
    get_path('subfont.ttf') -> '/export/home/ketil/.mplayer/subfont.ttf'93] A/Vms 0/112 D/B/S 0/3/2
    Unicode font: 413 glyphs.
       :

At the same time, memory leaks, growing from a modest footprint around
15Mb, to more than 500, which slows my box down to a crawl.

I'm not, AFAIK, trying to do anything fancy, the command line looks
like:

    mencoder -v -dvd 1 -oac copy -vop scale=640:400,crop=702:414:10:78
    -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vhq:aspect=1.77:vbitrate=940:vpass=1
    -o film.avi

I've experimented with variations of among other things:

   -noautosub -vobsuboutindex 0 -sid 2 -vobsubout subtitles
   -font

etc, but to no avail. Isn't there a way to simply ignore subtitles?
I'm using:

    MEncoder 0.90-RPM-3.1 (C) 2000-2003 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS)

I'm grateful for any and all suggestions, please cc me replies, as I'm
not a subscriber. (I'll try to check the archive, though)
