I ran into a bit of a problem here. It only seems to happen when you're
reading live from the DVB device. If I save the stream to disk and play it
back it doesn't exhibit the problems I mentioned :/

Perhaps they meant you might wobble the card about in the PCI slot or
something. I was unplugging it from the wall rather than the card.
