Thanks, effectively the LIVE howto tells to use the latest CVS version
(I missed it!)

I've tried using missing file from the stable version but (of course) I
get further errors.

I've used the today's CVS tarball :
http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/cvs/MPlayer-current.tar.bz2
if anynone knows about a previous working CVS version, please tell me
and I'll give it another try.

My system is: Debian Unstable w/Kernel 2.4.18
