[MPlayer-users] Having problems ripping a telecine dvd [León:the professional Director's cut]

Sorry, perhaps is a newbie question but is the first time that I rip a american dvd and I'm having problems with the scale and 16/9 and later reproduction.

First: I noticed that I received this message on reproduction:

demux_mpg: 3:2 TELECINE detected, enabling inverse telecine fx. FPS changed to 23,976!

The telecine afects at the time of encoding with Mencoder?


third: if I use:

mencoder -v -dvd 1 -alang en -chapter 4  -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:aspect=16/9:vhq:vqmin=2:vlelim=-4:vcelim=9:lumi_mask=0.05:dark_mask=0.01:vpass=1 -vop crop=710:364:4:56 -sws 2 -oac copy -o movie.avi 

And for play this movie.avi I use mplayer movie.avi.

The image is not correct on only views fine with:
mplayer  -aspect 2.35 movie-avi. 

What is the correct way of reproduce the movie.avi file without passing the 2.35 aspect parameter?

I used "..-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:aspect=16/9:v..." why mplayer don't show at 16:9 with "mplayer movie.avi" command, and needs the -aspect option?

Perhaps this is a weird question..thanks anyway.
