This is a interesting answer. But it produces some new questions,
especially to "Gabucino"

1. Will the problem be solved when I install LFS?
2. Why is LFS better than SuSE, RH et al. (your answer implies this)?
3. Why don't you have a note on the mplayer installation README: "Use
only with LFS or it might not work"
4. Why does other software work pretty well on SuSE, RH, etc.?
