I will have to install xine and see.
The DVD's play just fine from disc.
One DVD it happened on that many of you probably have is the Star Trek
Motion Picture DVD. Sorry - but the encoded dvd is too large for me to
upload to anyone. Maybe I will do a partial encode so that a smaller
file that demonstrates the issue can be uploaded.

It also seemed to happen in Total Recall - but seemed to correct itself
very quickly. I could see it being just out of sync but then later it
was perfectly synced.

I will see what xine does with it, and see how well mencoder works.
