[MPlayer-users] no sound when playing dvd?

i get no sound when i try to play the dvd "almost famous". here is mplayer's
output. gives some warning at the bottom and suggests using -ni, but that
does nothing...

whats going on? this happens also when i try to play my "commando" dvd...
