Hi.
My network connection is too slow to smoothly play the videos from
www.apple.com/trailers. So, i'm trying to get them on disk
for playback.
Now, mplayerplug-in can play them allright, i can look into the
source for the webpage and feed mplayer the movie, and it seems
that the file the page links to is just a 'reference file' which redirects
MPlayer to the real stream. This also works nicely.
Now, i've been unable to get that stream. MPlayer identifies several
'channels' in that MOV stream, if i open it with -vid 0 -aid 1 it plays
correctly, but i still can't get it to dump to disk! all i can get is this
'reference file' which, curiously, exits with a 'file not found' error
when i try to use it. I've tried:
mplayer -dumpstream <URL>

mplayer -dumpvideo <URL> <-- this works, but the raw video is kinda useless...
-------------------------------------
mplayer -dumpvideo -dumpaudio .. <-- works but i'm not even gonna say anything
about the dumpfile.
------------------------------------
Is there any other way to use dumpstream that i'm missing?
Thanks for any useful advice/help
Damian
