Hmm, yes, something is wrong. Actually, it DOES produce mono mp3
audio (try dumping it with -dumpaudio then playing stream.dump in an
mp3 player), but it puts the wrong values (stereo) in the avi header.
Thus the resulting file may be unplayable except on mplayer.

Apparently you're the first person ever to be interested in mono... :)
